Housing
Housing facilities are available to LDS Business College students through a variety of
off-campus property owners, including Property Reserve, Inc. (PRI), the
commercial real estate arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The
LDS Business College does not own, operate, or control any student housing
facilities.
Two of the rental properties listed on the College?s web site, the Plaza and the
Lodge, are owned by and are under the control of PRI, the commercial real estate arm
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. PRI has contracted with Horne
Lodging Properties to manage these two facilities on a day-to-day basis. Generally
speaking, the management of the Plaza and the Lodge is able to exercise a greater
degree of control in requiring adherence to the Honor Code standards than the
management of non-Church owned facilities. The College requires students residing
in the Lodge or Plaza to sign a contract with the College to purchase $500 per
semester in dining dollars for use at the Carriage Cafe. Since PRI housing units come
with microwaves and only one kitchen per two floors, the dining dollars provides
students an opportunity to eat a good meal once or twice a day.
The LDS Business College makes no representation or warranty as to the suitability,
quality, safety, living conditions, tenant satisfaction, value, or any other factor or
condition with respect to any of the housing facilities listed on its website. The
student and his/her family are solely responsible for making all housing arrangements
while attending the LDS Business College, including determining the suitability of a
particular facility and for inspecting and otherwise evaluating the facility before
entering into a lease agreement.
Commuter students will find that the city bus lines (UTA) and light rail (TRAX)
serve the campus well. City transit passes, subsidized by the College for its
students, are available for a modest amount and include all bus and TRAX routes
except ski busses, paratransit and special services. Light rail (TRAX) stops on
campus, and the new FrontRunner commuter rail will stop a block away.
