Changing Majors

Changes of majors should be processed the semester before the students intends to start the new program. Students should first apply for the change of major at the Registration Office. After the change has been approved, s tudents may pick up their new I-20 from the International Student Office the next business day.

Students that change their majors and apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), are eligible for CPT after 9 months in the new major. If a student changes his/her major after beginning CPT, he/she must discuss the impact of the change of major with Kathy Howe, Director of Career Services.

With your new online access, you will be able to change your major without requesting the change at the Registration Office. After you change your major, you will need to notify the change in order to record the change. Every time you change your major, you will need to request a new I-20. You may notify the International Student Office of this and other changes by email Intlreg@ldsbc.edu
