  Status Reinstatement

Eligibility

A student is eligible for reinstatement if the student can prove the following:

    1. That the violation of status resulted from circumstances beyond the student's control or that failure to receive reinstatement to lawful F-1 status would result in extreme hardship to the student;
    2. That the student is currently pursuing, or intending to purse, a full program of study at the school that issued the I-20;
    3. Has not engaged in unauthorized employment; and
    4. Is not deportable on any ground other than extended stay or failing to maintain status.

Students that have fallen out of status will be allowed to apply for a reinstatement. The Coordinator will guide and counsel the student through the process. Reinstatement will be approved or denied by the I.N.S. The College and the ISO do not guarantee that a student applying for a status reinstatement will be reinstated. Student must be in status in order to enroll in the College. Out of status students will not be allowed to enroll until he/she has renewed his/her status.

In situations where academic suspension have been the reason for falling out of status, the academic departments will decide whether to readmit this student or reject him/her. Starting the reinstatement process will depend on the academic department's decision to readmit the student.
