You can now make appointments with a tutor through Group Wise.
If you need any assistance with these instructions, please see a lab assistant.

  1. Add a tutor to your calendar to see his or her schedule. To do that:
Click on "Calendar" and then on the "Multi-User" tab.
Click on the icon circled in the picture:

2.In the screen that appears, type the full name of the tutor, and click "Add User." Make sure to mark the check box by the name.

3. Now your calendar's screen will look like the above picture, and you can see the tutor's schedule next to yours. To set an appointment, right-click on the time slot you wish to meet, and select "New> Appointment" from the pop-up lists.

4. In the "To:" box, type both your name and the tutor's name, so that both of you receive the email confirming the appointment. In the "Subject" box, please type in your name, student ID, and the subject you want to be tutored in. Type your phone number in the "Message" Box. Click on the "Send" button, and you are ready to go. The tutor will receive an email to confirm the appointment, and he or she will write you back if he or she has any questions or needs to make a change to the appointment.

If you want to cancel an appointment, you will have to send your tutor a regular email, asking to cancel the appoinment. Or you can call the Learning Lab at 524-8118.

You can also set your appointment through GroupWise online. Just open Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator and type (or click the link below):
http://gw.ldsbc.edu (Notice there's no www)

  1. On the first screen, select your language from the drop down list and click on the "go" button.
  2. In the following screen, type your student ID number and the password you created earlier. Click "login."
This website works just like hotmail or Yahoo! Mail. Write emails to anyone, not just people from the College. Use the address book for email addresses not known.
  3. To create an appointment with a tutor, click on the "Compose button" on the top left of the screen. Then on the screen that opens, click on the "Appointment" button.
  4. Fill out the rest of the information like a regular email. Remember to select the day and time of the appointment to type the email address of the tutor in the "To:" box.
  5. Click on the "Send" button. You're done. The tutor will receive the email with the appointment.
