Beginning Fall Semester 2011, Utah Transit Authority will be making significant changes to the Ed Pass program in which LDS Business College has been a participant. This is a discount program which UTA offers to educational institutions for reduced fares on buses, TRAX and FrontRunner trains. This change will result in a considerable increase in the price of a student bus pass. The exact price has not yet been determined, but the change is significant.
Prices for Fall Semester 2011 for education discounted bus passes are expected to be as follows:
Premium Service for the Fall 2011 Semester only: $423.00
Regular Service for the Fall 2011 Semester only: $176.25
Premium Service for 30 days: $135.00
Regular Service for 30 days: $ 56.25
These student prices represent a 25% discount from the monthly pass pricing UTA charges the general public. Current fare information is available on UTA’s website at… http://www.rideuta.com/mc/?page=RidingUTA-PayingYourFare-Fares
The College is currently exploring ways of mitigating or at least managing the impact of these changes. As more information becomes available, the College will post it here.
