What is STEP?

The STEP (Student Tailored Education Plan) program has been designed to help you reach these aims learn, live, follow, and lead in the Lord’s way and become marketable for today’s and tomorrow’s workplace.

You will develop these spiritual and professional competencies while living the Learning Pattern concepts and principles, and serving your peers, campus, and community. And as you discover, design, develop, and demonstrate transferable skills that are most sought after by employers in ever-changing and intensifying economies.

STEP 1 – Discover

In this first phase (STEP 1 - Discover) you will have the opportunity to provide basic information about your educational goals, interests, and needs and to consider important decisions and resources that will shape your life.

STEP 2 – Design

In (STEP 2 – Design), you will create, in consultation with a trained Student Development Center advisor, a customized educational plan tailored to your specific talents, needs, interests, and goals.

STEP 3 – Develop and Demonstrate

The next phase (STEP 3 – Develop and Demonstrate) you will develop and demonstrate your spiritual capacities and transferable-skills while utilizing LDSBC and community resources relevant to your plan.

Getting Started On Your STEP

Please take a few minutes to thoughtfully complete this initial STEP assessment. By doing so, you consent to release the information only to qualified College personnel who are trained to help you have an optimal experience at LDSBC. At the end of the assessment, you will be given instructions for scheduling your first appointment with a STEP advisor, to move forward with the STEP process.
