Expected Family Contribution (EFC)

The Department of Education provides the following definition of the EFC:

The EFC is a measure of your family's financial strength and indicates how much of you and your family's financial resources (for dependent students) should be available to help pay for your education.  The EFC is calculated from the information you report on the FAFSA. (Funding Education Beyond High School 08-09, pg 5)

The EFC is used by the Financial Aid Office to determine the type of aid a student is eligible to receive.  This does not mean the family is required to pay the College that amount prior to the student receiving aid.  If the student is a dependent student, the EFC is calculated from the student’s and parents’ FAFSA information.  If the student is independent, the EFC is calculated from the student’s (and spouse’s) FAFSA information.

Estimated Cost of Attendance (COA)

The COA is an estimate of what a student may spend while attending LDS Business College, based on where the student will live during the award year.  These costs are estimates and are not costs the student is required to pay the College (except tuition costs).  The COA (listed below) is based on two semesters of full-time attendance.
