Interior Design Program


The design program provides hand skills and a visual design sense necessary for a successful career in the interior design industry. Our students compete in the annual IIDA Portfolio Review and have a long tradition of top placement in the competition. Recent winners include first and second place, honorable mention awards, and a national award from the IFDA.

Career Opportunities

Students graduate with a presentation portfolio sufficient to move immediately into an interior design career. Graduates from this rigorous program have a reputation for excellence in the design industry.

Our students are working in high-end home furnishing stores, design-related industries, and some have decided to open their own design firms.

  1. Interior Design AAS Degree

    Fine furniture stores have openings for staff designers. Students may choose to work as sales representatives for one of the design-related industries. Limited positions are available in architectural and interior design firms for apprentice designers. In time, students may decide to open their own design firm. Whichever direction students pursue, they can be assured of an exciting and creative career.

  2. Interior Design Certificate

    Upon completion of this certificate, graduates are prepared to work at entry-level positions in furniture stores as staff designers or as sales representatives in floor covering, wall covering, or textile firms. Many design-related firms require their sales personnel to have a design background.
