altGetting the diploma is one thing. Getting the job is another.
That’s why students will trade regular classroom experiences for a day-long, on-campus “Preparing for Professions" conference on Wednesday, January 25. Students will choose from more than 50 seminars on a wide variety of career preparation topics taught by area professionals, employers, and experts.
Seminar topics include effective interviewing skills, resume writing, employment research, keeping skills current and marketable, networking, problem solving, professional dress, workplace etiquette, and online identity development, to name a few.
Keynote speakers for the day are Clark Gilbert, president and CEO of Deseret Digital Media; Marilyn McSweeney, executive recruiter and career consultant, The McSweeney Group; and LDS Business College President J. Lawrence Richards.
The conference begins at 7:40 a.m., with a wide variety of break-out sessions offered by accomplished professionals, and the last seminar concludes at 8:30 p.m.
