Interior Design Students Showcase Portfolios

Every year, Interior Design students are required to showcase their portfolios. This gives them the opportunity to graduate with a presentation portfolio which will help them in job interviews.
On Wednesday, Interior Design students set up their portfolios in the Commons Room and presented them to the public. Following the showcasing of portfolios, an awards presentation was given to close out the evening.
Each semester, students get real-life experience by creating projects that teach and apply the concepts and skills needed for the industry. Hands-on learning helps students better retain the knowledge they gain and gives students opportunities to use their skills.
For prospective students looking to enter LDS Business College's Interior Design program, effective Fall 2019 it will be changed from a four-semester program to a six-semester program. No Spring program start will be available. The course sequences available are:
- Fall Start, first summer (Spring semester) off (Fall, Winter, Fall Winter, Spring, and Fall)
- Fall Start, year round (Fall, Winter, Spring, Fall, Winter, Spring)
- (This is the only option that allows for Walking in graduation after Winter)
- Winter Start, year round (Winter, Spring, Fall, Winter, Spring, Fall)
Students completing this degree will meet the requirements to take the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) Exam, as well as the LEED, GA (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Green Associate) Exam. The NCIDQ Exam is the industry standard for Interior Design Practitioners and (as of January 2019) there is legislation in 28/50 states regulating the practice of interior design via the NCIDQ Exam.
